Early Life & Education
Since being introduced to music through piano lessons at the age of 6, 5PiECE always had an immense passion for music and its technical aspects. He became an artist in high school, where he would write, record and release rap songs made using computer software that he taught himself to use to his classmates. His affinity for music led him to the Metalworks Institute of Sound & Music Production, where he learned the fundamental skills that he’s built upon and still uses today. In 2013, 5PiECE graduated from Metalworks at the top of his class with a diploma with honours in Audio Production & Engineering.
Interning for 40 at OVO Sound
Upon graduating, 5PiECE had the opportunity to intern and mentor under Grammy Award winning producer and engineer, Noah “40” Shebib (Drake, Beyonce, Alicia Keys) while also helping out around OVO’s private recording studio, SOTA Studios. During this time, he was able to expand his network and learn from one of the best minds in music today.
